Our Priorities

AZECA exists to support Arizona children’s critical early years to ensure they succeed in school, the workforce and in life.

Together, we are Arizona’s shared and unified voice on early childhood, providing informed messages and credible resources that help lawmakers and community leaders create positive change for our children. AZECA aims to Improve alignment between and among early childhood partners, stakeholders, providers, state agencies and the professional development system.

Bearing in mind that children of specific risk or of vulnerable populations deserve particular safeguards and care that can be extended to them by way of law and policy, and to assure equitable access to high quality early childhood experiences, AZECA has adopted the following priorities:

1. Increase and sustain investments in the early childhood system.

2. Increase the percentage of 3 and 4 year-old children in high quality early learning settings.

3.  Increase the percentage of infants and toddlers in high quality early learning settings.

4. Increase access to supports that impact each developmental domain to ensure the optimal development of ALL Arizona children, including health, family support, and parent education.
